San Fran 2009!!

If you are looking for something exciting (and ecumenical) to do on January 30- February 1, there is a conference for the North American Region of the World Student Christian Federation in San Francisco.  This conference will focus on social justice issues and movement building.  CESCM is the affiliated movement to the WSCF in the US.  More information about the conference and registration forms are available at scmcanada.org/sanfran2009.  If anybody is interested in learning more about world ecumenical movements and social justice activities they are involved in, this would be a wonderful conference to attend.

My First CESCM Meeting

My name is Betsy Katz (standard college introduction -- I'm a fourth year from at the University of Georgia in Athens majoring in Mathematics, Spanish, and Religion). I joined CESCM this fall as representative of the Presbyterian Student Advocacy and Leadership Team (PSALT).

Right now, I have nothing brilliant to say, but I promise my next post will be more fascinating. Hmm... talking about the meaning of ecumenism maybe... or focusing on one of the issues we wrestled with as different denominations came together.

However, I shall philosophize for just a second. How powerful it is that the voice of college students matters at all levels of the church!
